"We believe these rewards will help drivers have a better driving experience when using the Uber app", said Uber's general manager for East Africa Loic Amado.

"For many people, getting around their city is already a multimodal affair, and this partnership will let riders seamlessly combine public transit with other transportation options like ride sharing, no matter where they need to go", Uber said.

The company just completed a deal to acquire acquired bike-sharing service Jump.

Uber earlier this week announced its acquisition of dockless bike-sharing service Jump. Bike sharing is just the latest addition.

Anyone with the Uber app in D.C. can now use it to rent a JUMP bike, the electric bikes that Uber now owns. The new Uber Rent platform, which is scheduled to launch later this month in San Francisco, will make cars from Getaround's network available to users of the Uber app. MasterCard envisions a trip from say, CT to NY, using one in-app payment platform that covers the Uber ride, train ticket, and then subway access.

The new Uber driver app comes with an "Earnings tracker" that let drivers know how much they earned on their last trip, making it easy to track progress.

Khosrowshahi said the company is aiding the National Transportation Safety Board in its investigation on why Uber's auto never noticed a woman crossing the street with her bicycle.

Uber has signed a partnership agreement with Masabi, a transit ticketing firm that has contracts with transit agencies in NY and Boston, among others.

Masabi has partnerships with transit systems in New York, Boston, Los Angeles, Las Vegas and train and transit operators in Europe.

Khosrowshahi announced three partnerships on Wednesday.

That's why we're today launching Uber Movement in Toronto - a free tool which uses Uber's anonymised data from millions of trips to help urban planners make decisions about their city. Working with SharedStreets and D.C. transportation agencies, Uber will study how different transportation modes are used and how they affect city streets and sidewalks.
