ESPN Films & Netflix Team Up for Michael Jordan Doc Series

One of the big themes of the Michael Jordan myth is that the "Jordan era" was the start of professional sports' integration into mass media, advertising, and pop culture.

Films and Netflix are set to release a 10-part documentary profiling National Basketball Association legend Michael Jordan in 2019.

The series will delve into Jordan's transformative rise that coincided - some would say led to - increased popularity of the National Basketball Association.

Michael Jordan's Chicago Bulls dynasty is getting a super-sized version of ESPN's 30-for-30 treatment, the network announced today.

The series will premiere sometime in 2019.

Titled, The Last Dance, the docu-series will have an in-depth look into one of the most legendary dynasties to take the hardwood.

Michael Jordan comparison/debate will be a huge topic of discussion for fans.

There are unconfirmed reports that Bugs Bunny will feature, talking about Jordan's cameo in Space Jam.

The project will be anchored by more than 500 hours of never-before-seen footage from the team's last championship run in the 1997-98 season. In 2006, Jordan became a part-owner of the then-Charlotte Bobcats, before purchasing a controlling stake in 2010.
