Huawei's Honor 10 flagship smartphone is finally here

Huawei's sub-brand Honor on Tuesday globally launched its latest smartphone, Honor 10 in London.

Honor knows spring is here and summer is on the way, so it has announced the Honor 10, one of the brightest, sparkliest, and most colorful smartphones we've seen in a while. The phone appeared along with Honor 7A on the support website, so both devices might be arrive at the same event. It intends to do that with phones like the Honor 10, which feature some unique design elements and an infusion of "AI". The company has also chosen only to launch two colour variants in the country - Midnight Black and Phantom Blue.

According to Honor, the Honor 10 is available starting today in Europe. There is a discount of Rs 3000 over the regular exchange value for all other devices. Also, there is a Jio Offer which includes Rs 1200 cashback and 100 GB additional data and benefit of Rs 3300 worth partners voucher. The Honor 10 launch timing comes at a time when the smartphone market is talking about the OnePlus 6 launch which will be revealed on Wednesday.

The Kirin 970 Chipset is paired with 6 GB RAM and 128 GB of onboard storage. Now, with the Honor 10, the company is properly placed with a mid-range, upper mid-range and flagship offering.

The phone sports a 5.99-inch TFT LCD IPS HD+ display with screen resolution of 1440 x 720 pixels and aspect ratio of 18:9.

On the photography front, the Honor 10 boast of a 24MP+16MP dual rear camera setup along with a f/1.8 aperture, PDAF, and AI mode. The AI and the setup together facilitate features like 3D Portrait Lighting and HDR. On the front, the phone is supposed to sport an 8-megapixel front-facing selfie camera with f/2.0 aperture along with and Led flash. There is no microSD card support on the Honor 10.

The phone comes with the usual connectivity options, including Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 4.2, USB Type-C port (USB 2.0), and dual nano SIM slots. The all-new smartphone is the successor of the last year's Honor 9 and shares a number of design cues from its predecessor.

Huawei mentioned the fingerprint reader as Ultrasonic Under Glass Fingerprint sensor but don't confuse this with the in-screen fingerprint reader as that's a different thing.

The build quality feels great, too, and as the handset measures 149.6 x 71.2 x 7.7mm and weighs in at a very reasonable 153g, the Honor 10 feels light yet balanced in the hand.
