Pulisic, who is one of the most promising young players in the Bundesliga, has been linked with a move to the Premier League on repeated occasions, with both Manchester United and Liverpool rumoured to be interested in the American last summer.

And the England global has explained how their thrilling journey this season has been driven by a strong sense of collectiveness among Jürgen Klopp's players.

The German also insisted that this final would be different to the Europa League Final defeat to Sevilla in 2016, saying: "This time it is completely different".

'When you see the pictures - and I realise it as well, by the way - I look still like a player. that's not cool, but that's me.

"You have a chance against them and they are not bothered". I've enjoyed the game.

"So he hears I think he's a world class centre half, and that maybe helped him, I don't know".

"In a final like this a lot of people like to talk about things that aren't really true".

"First of all, please try to improve the game we play and that's what I am good in, all the rest can happen but it's not so important for me".

Liverpool have played some sensational football this season and are top scorers in the Champions League with 40 goals.

"When they told me about the problems they had I thought "OK, yeah, I am probably the really right manager for that club".

That feeling of unity around the club has not been restricted to within the dressing room, either, as players and supporters have shared several special moments throughout the campaign.

"[It's been] fantastic", Henderson continued.

"Two positions that are really, really hard to play for Liverpool: goalkeeper and centre half".

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has been speaking this week about why there is such a strong contingent of British players in his squad.

"That's what we are trying to do, create our own history", he stated.

"And, in the end, we have to be there in the decisive moments, we have to score when we have the chances".

"Pep [Guardiola] said once, the big teams really have a cup of coffee and then bang, they go".
