If you need more capacity the handset supports microSD cards up to 1TB.

The company yesterday released LG G7 thinQ and LG G7 + thinQ, the G7+ is the upgraded variant with better internal storage. Bear in mind the smartphone features a 19.5:9 LCD screen with a 3,120 x 1,440 resolution and a peak brightness of 1,000 nits.

When LG announced that the G6 would sport a 18:9 aspect ratio we were puzzled but soon after that announcement the aspect ratio became nearly normal.

"The screen measures 6.1" which is almost half an inch larger than its predecessor and the polished metal rim holds a Gorilla Glass 5 front and back in place. LG calls it the "New Second Screen", and you can customize it in a few ways. If you're not feeling the notch, you can hide it by blacking out the status bar. The display is said to be so bright that users should have no problem with visibility even when it's under direct sunlight.

Talking about the design, the LG G7 ThinQ has a design similar to the LG V30 with a glass back and aluminium frame.

"The LG G7 ThinQ is strongly focused on the fundamentals and its launch marks a new chapter for our company", said Hwang Jeong-hwan, president of LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company. Thankfully LG included Qi wireless charging. The G7 ThinQ is the first smartphone to feature DTS:X for virtual 3D sound for all content.

LG has also further enhanced the AI features of the camera that first debuted in the LG V30S ThinQ.

In the camera department, the LG G7 ThinQ packs a dual rear camera setup with a primary 16-megapixel f/1.9 super wide angle sensor, paired with a 16-megapixel f/1.6 secondary sensor. This time both cameras use the same 16MP sensor, but the wide-angle lens is narrower (107 degrees against the older 127 degrees). This bokeh effect can be generated using either the standard or Super Wide Angle lens.

The highlights of the rear include a dual 16 MP camera having an aperture of f/1.6 and f/1.9 respectively.

The new device comes with smart artificial intelligence software, predominantly via the camera that can suggest shooting modes or filters when taking a picture. LG mentioned a pet mode on the camera, but didn't explain what it does or how it works. And not only did the back camera get a boost, the selfie cam is now 8MP. The LG G7 ThinQ is swanky, has top-spec internals and keeps all the much-loved features from previous-generation phones. This includes landmarks, animals, books and plants. The company says additional capabilities like automatically adding new contacts from a business and new events to a calendar from a photo will be unveiled at Google's upcoming I/O Conference. This handset is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 and runs on Android 8.0 oreo. Firstly, the device has a dedicated button below the volume rockers which launches the Google Assistant with a single tap and Google Lens with 2 taps. It can not be remapped. Dimensions measure 153.2 x 71.9 x 7.9mm and it weighs 162g. The phone weighs in at 5.7 oz (162 g).

Finally, there's IP68 dust and water resistance, so you won't have to worry about dropping it in the sink. The jack sits alongside a USB Type-C port and a speaker grille, which are all located at the bottom.

They will be released in black, gray, blue, and red. But first, the phone will go on sale in LG's home country, South Korea.
