Rage 2's Gameplay Shown Off In New Trailer

The official story synopsis confirms a new hero will be taking charge in RAGE 2.Some of the antagonists from the first game will also make their return in the sequel including General Cross. You must fight the overbearing rule of The Authority, kill the insane gangs, and bring sanity back to the wasteland. The new, nearly two minute video focuses entirely on in-game footage showing off different features.

Rage 2 is headed for PC, Xbox One, as well as PlayStation 4, and it will also be one of the games that will be showcased in Bethesda's E3 presentation next month.

The original Rage, which was released in 2011 as a semi-open-world shooter, impressed the masses overall. Full of pink-clad post-apocalyptic mayhem, the Rage 2 trailer forgoes in-game footage in favour of a stylistic live-action approach with a gameplay reveal coming later today. But barring some colossal screw-up in development, Rage 2's gunplay will be incredible.

Avalanche has experience with open-world games having developed Just Cause 3. According to Bethesda, it'll be like diving "headfirst into a dystopian world devoid of society, law, and order". After an asteroid takes out 80% of the earth's population, bloodthirsty gangs prowl the open roads and a tyrannical organization called the Authority rules. In the Bethesda Blog post that accompanies this gameplay trailer, the company explains that Rage 2 is actually the product of a team up between id Software and Avalanche Studios.

Equipped with unique guns and gear, you'll need every one of your weapons and all of your skills to defend your home - even if it is a merciless wasteland.
