The actress even directed an upcoming episode set in Hong Kong, and Bourdain would often consult her for her rich knowledge of music and film when putting together the series. She shared a photo of their 11-year-old daughter, Ariane, behind a microphone onstage, clad in studded, knee-high boots.

Funeral arrangements are in the hands of Bourdain's ex-wife, Ottavia Busia, as she is legally next of kin. "She was unbelievable. So strong and fearless", Ottavia captioned her Instagram post. She wore the boots you bought her. "I see all of us who have carried on", she wrote.
