How much time users spend using an app is an important competitive metric for social media platforms. Once you update your Instagram app, look for the IGTV logo on the top-right side of your feed, next to the DM button.

Social media app Instagram announced Wednesday that it would be increasing its time limit for videos posted on its platform from one minute to 10 minutes, as part of a general expansion of the app's video capabilities.

Instagram also shares how businesses, creators, and more can "leverage" the new platform, reiterating its massive user base.

"Just like turning on the TV, IGTV starts playing as soon as you open the app".

IGTV is available on the App Store as a free download.
