Police in IL released video showing the moment an officer stopped to save a young boy he saw running on the side of a busy road.
"I was praying to God he wouldn't make a left turn to enter that lane of traffic", Mannino said.

Mannino was presented his department's lifesaving award on Thursday, the department said.
During the chase, a large truck could be seen passing within a few feet of the child at a high rate of speed.

An Illinois police sergeant is being hailed a hero after rescuing a young child who "escaped his mother's watchful eye".
After about 30 strides, Mannino catches the child, according to the dashcam footage.
