"We've completed our testing process for the improvements to our matchmaking services and are deploying servers that will bring back the Playground LTM", Epic said on Reddit.

Enter the newly-released Fortnite Playgrounds mode which, after a delayed introduction due to some technical teething issues, finally lands today (July 3) enabling players to hone their skills before facing off in the full matches.

"Please do not forget to change your region back to "auto select" and verify you're on your preferred region", the post says. "We've since separated the Playground matchmaker from the one that affects the default modes and made large improvements to assist with the number of players". And while it's more of a friendly play space you can still take pot shots at your pals, with everyone getting unlimited respawns. Errors are likely to occur, but Epic advises players to simply requeue until a match is found. If other people are in the mode, they may kill you, destroy your buildings, or leave the map, resulting in a "Victory" message and being forced to leave the game.

The team also plans on "releasing an in-depth and detailed postmortem in the near future to go over the obstacles that we encountered during the process of trying to enable this Limited Time Mode".
