George Clooney recovering after scooter accident in Sardinia

George Clooney has been rushed to hospital after his scooter collided with a auto in Sardinia, local media report.

Clooney was driving his scooter at 8 a.m. local time Tuesday when he collided with a auto, which reportedly sent him crashing into its windshield and flying 20 feet in the air.

Giovanni Mannoni, a police commander in Olbia, said the actor did not suffer any serious injuries or break any bones.

The actor also reportedly underwent an MRI while at the hospital.

Italian media reported that Clooney was knocked off his bike by a vehicle and taken to a local hospital. "He is recovering at his home and will be fine".

Clooney will star in and co-direct the limited series, which began filming in May.

Reports suggest Amal was not present at the accident, but later joined the actor in the hospital.

Clooney, who has a home in Italy, reportedly was in Sardinia filming a television miniseries adapted from Joseph Heller's World War II novel "Catch-22", according to ABC News.
