Demi Lovato reportedly expected to leave hospital this week

Another source says Demi's decision to seek treatment was encouraged by her family. At the time, they said that a 25-year-old woman was in the process of being taken to hospital and that she was in a stable condition.

According to reports, Demi Lovato has agreed to go straight to rehab once she leaves Los Angeles' Cedars-Sinai Hospital followng her recent overdose.

A source told TMZ.com: "The bodyguard somehow knew there was an emergency at Demi's home a week ago and when he entered the home Demi's assistant was screaming: 'She's dead, she's dead!'"

"She understands the severity of her overdose and the recovery has been very challenging for her..." "He visits Demi every day he can, and has spent hours with her and her family".

Demi experienced complications after her apparent overdose and remained in the hospital with extreme nausea and fever. Paramedics later arrived and administered Narcan, a drug that counters the affects of opioids. Now that she is doing better they are adamant to get her the help she needs.

An insider explained: "Demi has told the people close to her that she is serious about her sobriety, and plans to do whatever it takes to maintain a healthy lifestyle moving forward".

Lovato, who shot to fame on the Disney series Sonny With A Chance, had been sober for six years, but suffered a relapse earlier this year.
