Redskins rookie RB Guice to miss season with torn ACL

The New England Patriots quarterback, who was held out of Thursday night's preseason game versus the Washington Redskins, has a minor sore back, NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported, per a source informed of the issue.

Guice was selected in the second round of the 2018 NFL Draft out of LSU. For fantasy players who already drafted Guice, it might feel like your season is already over. "He's been great, never been late, attentive, great attitude, always happy, happy-go-lucky and fun to be around, quite frankly". It's not clear whether that previous injury made him more susceptible to the torn ACL, but there were National Football League teams that did extra evaluation on his medical status leading up to the draft because of that knee.

"He was supposed to be a first-round pick", Thompson said earlier in training camp. But can he run with the power and explosiveness that Guice was expected to bring?

Kelley has earned praise from Jay Gruden, and Perine is said to be looking better than he did last season, when he averaged 3.4 yards per carry and didn't factor much into the receiving game. "We take that into consideration with every player we put on the field".

The competition is now wide open after Guice's season-ending injury. Thompson got 64 carries in his 10 games previous year, and could be looking at a similar number of rushes per game with Guice out for the season. "Sorry, I don't", the coach predictably responded. "So, control what you can control". Tight end Manasseh Garner also suffered a torn ACL.
