Xiaomi Mi A2 4GB variant launched at Rs 16999 in India

Xiaomi's previous premium device in India was the Mi Mix 2, launched a year ago. Though the major specifications of the handset are already known, Indian gadget buyers will be looking out for the Xiaomi Mi A2 price in India.

While that doesn't look like that much, it's a significant savings in the budget handset department. It is available with an internal storage of 64GB.

Xiaomi Mi A2 and Redmi Note 5 Pro both feature a 5.99-inch Full HD+ display with an aspect ratio of 18:9.

Battery and OS Xiaomi Mi A2 is fuelled by a 3,010mAh battery with support for Quick Charge 4+ which will be available later this year. Talking about the cameras, the Mi A2 sports dual rear cameras featuring 12MP Sony IMX486 sensor with f/1.75 aperture, 1.25μm pixel size, EIS, and a 20MP Sony IMX376 sensor with f/1.75 aperture, 2.0μm pixels. In front, you'll be greeted by a 13MP selfie shooter with an f/2.2 aperture lens.

This is Xiaomi's second phone featuring Android One (Stock Android Experience), which is based on Android Oreo (8.1).

It will come in Black, Gold, Rose Gold and Lake Blue colour variants. Another variant of Mi A2 with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage will be launching soon. Xiaomi has chosen the Snapdragon 660 chipset to power the device. The phone comes in two variants: NEX A and NEX S - we expect Vivo to only launch the topend NEX S in India because they're gunning for the premium market. Xiaomi said that the device will be available on Mi.com, Amazon.in and Mi Home offline stores. Incidentally, there is no micro-SD card slot. Connectivity features include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth, GPS/ A-GPS and USB Type-C.

Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi on Wednesday expanded its Android One line-up in India by bringing its Mi A2 to the country. For selfies, the it has a 20MP selfie camera with flash, which is capable of delivering DSLR-like depth-of-field.

Despite running stock Android, Xiaomi has bundled conveniences like Mi Drop, File Manager, and a dedicated feedback button on the Mi A2. It will also get the Android Pie update and will also support Android's new gesture-based update with that comes with the update. The main camera setup can record 4k videos at 30fps, whereas the secondary camera can only record 1080p videos at 30fps.
