The Premier League is almost back after the worldwide break and Arsenal head coach Unai Emery will be hoping his side can pick up where it left off.

Emery said Ozil had simply been struggling with illness and he was fit to start the following week against Cardiff.

The Gunners travel to Newcastle United on Saturday for a rare 3:00 pm Premier League clash ahead of the Europa League group stage opener next Thursday.

Goalkeeper: Once again, Petr Cech looked uncomfortable with the ball at his feet during the win over Cardiff City last time out but I still don't think Emery is going to bring in Bernd Leno just yet. "In this process, we will work, we will help him, give him the possibility on the pitch to be together, to find his qualities for us".

Emery is hoping for a fresh start for a player he wants to see relishing his opportunity to affect games for the club.

Emery discussed how the experienced defender has progressively improved since his time in Spain, highlighting just why he remains an integral part of his plans at Arsenal.

"This is the moment to say to you that I have a good relationship with Mesut and I didn't say it to the groundsman not to water on the pitch, it's not true".

Arsenal's players are not the only ones who have been away on global duty of course, but this might be a good time for Newcastle to play them.

"Saturday is another step we can do, it will be hard but I want to continue [to show] our personality on the pitch and impose this personality on the opposition and to find the win". I don't know any other news from him'.
