Barkley returns for England, ready to live up to hopes

Barkley has not played for his country since the friendly against Australia prior to Euro 2016, but was handed a recall last week by boss Gareth Southgate for the Nations League matches against Croatia and Spain.

It is a new experience for me because Klopp has a different style of work from the way I'm used to but this is something I will learn.

Despite impressing during pre-season, in which he scored a spectacular bicycle kick against Manchester United in the International Champions Cup, the Swiss ace has struggled to nail down a starting spot in Klopp's first XI this campaign.

"But I've kept a positive mind, worked really hard, fitness wise I'm feeling as good as I've ever felt before and I'm looking forward to the games ahead and the rest of the season".

Thinking back to the summer and the World Cup, of course I would've preferred to have been in Russian Federation with the lads, but sometimes you just have to accept where you're at.

Man City and Liverpool are regarded by many as the two title favourites - but the London clubs certainly look like they're in with a shout.

"Both teams did well, and we were a bit lucky with the penalty of course". We have a lot of young talent, and even though I wasn't part of the World Cup squad, I can see everyone is developing really well now and if we can keep progressing over the years, there will be more success down the line.
