John Prine Among 2019 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Nominees

The nominees for the 2019 class of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame have been announced, and the artist list includes Def Leppard, Rage Against the Machine, MC5, Radiohead, the Cure, Todd Rundgren, John Prine and more.

Artists must have released their first commercial recording at least 25 years prior to the year of nomination to be eligible.

The impressive members of The Hall now includes bands/artists across a variety of genres, including Aretha Franklin, Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, KISS, David Bowie, ABBA, Billy Joel, Fleetwood Mac, Aerosmith and the Eagles.

It's that time again - time for opinions to fly, arguments to be had and fan votes to be cast.

The 2019 nominee ballot is here and the 2019 Fan Vote presented by Klipsch Audio is now open.

According to the NY Times, this is the fifth time that LL Cool J has been nominated for the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.

The winners will be announced in December, with the induction ceremony taking place at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, on March 29, 2019.

The nods are a first for Def Leppard, Devo, Prine, Roxy Music, and Rundgren, as well as the first as a solo artist for Nicks, a member of Fleetwood Mac who was previously inducted with the rest of the group in 1998. For some, the pinnacle of the list contains musings such as one day winning a Grammy award.
