They also announced the availability of the big October Windows 10 update that prepares the OS for what could be a really important new feature: Android app mirroring. Once you select Windows 10 and your download language, you'll be given the option to obtain either the 32-bit or 64-bit version of the Windows 10 October 2018 Update.

For enterprise customers, Windows 10 version 1809 starts the semi-annual channel servicing model with a feature update cycle targeting March and September releases. Soon, it will be made available for the iPhone users also. The feature will be supported on Windows 10 for the devices running on Android Nougat or later version. It will be a few days until getting to the fresh Windows tests, but stay tuned. Microsoft has been talking for a while about DirectX-level support, and the new Windows update delivers.

Only three games will support the API thus far, two of which aren't out yet: Metro Exodus, Battlefield 5, which doesn't launch until mid-November, and Shadow of the Tomb Raider. An app called 'Your Phone' got some brief stage time, and it will enable app mirroring from an Android phone to a Windows computer.

Windows 10 Insider testers and other users who want the update now can manually check for updates. This is similar to how it rolled out the previous major Windows update and used Machine Learning to optimise the task.
