Newlyweds die in helicopter crash leaving their wedding

A just-married couple was killed early Sunday when the helicopter they were in crashed in northwest Uvalde County.

Byler's grandfather, William Byler, said the couple died when a helicopter that had departed the wedding reception crashed.

Fox News reports that Will Byler and Bailee Ackerman had a fairytale wedding on a family ranch.

The Houstonian, a student-led newspaper at Sam Houston State University, confirmed Will Byler and Bailee Ackerman were leaving their wedding when the helicopter went down in Central Texas. Neither has said whether anyone else was on board the helicopter, but a friend of the couple wrote on Facebook that the pilot was also killed in the crash.

Engagement photos posted on the website show Mr Byler in his cowboy hat embracing Ms Ackerman.

The Uvalde County Sheriff's Office responded to a call from the aviation monitoring center about a downed aircraft around midnight.

The San Antonio Fire Department deployed 10 members of its technical rescue team to assist the Federal Aviation Administration with the investigation, but they returned to San Antonio on Sunday night, according to KSAT news.

Bailee was going to graduate in December and Will in May, Ellis said. "They will be greatly missed by many". They responded with several other agencies and were able to locate the helicopter around daybreak, according to the post.
