Tyler Perry has announced that he is bringing his Madea franchise to a close with the release of next year's Tyler Perry's A Madea Family Funeral.More news: Sania Mirza and Shoaib Malik blessed with a baby boy
On Monday's episode of "Bevelations," the filmmaker and actor told "Page Six TV" co-host Bevy Smith that the last movie in the long-running franchise, "Madea Family Funeral", will hit theaters next year.
"I just don't want to be her age playing her", he added.
He also said on the program that his team finished shooting the film two years ago, but wanted to stagger its release following 2016 and 2017's Madea Halloween films.

According to reports, Madea has appeared in dozens of films grossing more than $500 million internationally.
'I'm doing one last tour in 2019, the farewell tour, ' prolific Perry - who boasts a $600M fortune - promised.
