Chelsea midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek is open to leaving on loan in the January transfer window if he is not given first-team assurances, according to The Mirror.

Steve Nicol says that Chelsea's defeat at Wolves prove their not a title challenger and must resort to a top four battle with Arsenal and Spurs.

The 22-year-old is yet to start a Premier League match this season but has five goals in all competitions and feels he's deserving of a chance. "After the first goal - an accident because we were in full control of the match - we were suddenly another team. I am really anxious not for the result but for the fact that we didn't react to the first goal of the opponent".

I have got to do my best and try and make stuff happen, but also do what the manager asks me to do defensively", the young midfielder told the reports on Sunday."I am here right now, I am at Chelsea and I want to focus on helping the team.

"The result is very hard for this because I know very well in every match you need points".

"I think it's more important to talk about our attitude after the first goal", he said.
