In a statement on the show's official Twitter page, it was confirmed: "Hey, #CriminalMinds fans-we've got big news". The 14 season of the show is now airing, with the season finale scheduled for February 6. The 15th season will air during the 2019-2020 season, bringing the final episode count to 325. We're so very proud to have aired it. "It speaks to everything we do best, which is air quality television". It's been successful not only on air but online, in syndication, internationally for ABC [Studios] ... The long-running CBS crime drama will end after its 15 season, the network has announced. As the outlet detailed, the final installments of Criminal Minds are to be shot sequentially with the series' season 14 episodes.

"We wanted to make sure Erica had the time and ability to write a season (14) finale that honors the characters and the fans", CBS EVP of current programs Amy Reisenbach told Deadline.
