The young man allegedly killed Closs' parents, James and Denise, in order to abduct the teen from her home on 15 October previous year, however his motive for the kidnapping remains unclear.

Peter and Kristin Kasinskas, who helped rescue Closs, described the girl as "dirty", "thin" and "really exhausted and run down" after she escaped the hell house Thursday.

Records show that defendant Jake Thomas Patterson's father transferred the title of the cabin near Gordon to Superior Choice Credit Union on October 23, eight days after the October 15 attack at the Closs family's home near Barron, which is about 60 miles (100 kilometers) south of Gordon.

A man suspected of kidnapping a Wisconsin teenager and killing her parents is expected to be formally charged Monday, and the charging documents could shed light on what investigators believe the young man knew about his victims, his motives and tactics. "I can only go off of my own experiences", Smart said.

Nutter objected to a media report that described Jayme as being "dirty", but she said the girl clearly wasn't appropriately dressed for being outside and was obviously in distress.

"Jayme had a pretty good night sleep", she wrote, "It was great to know she was next to me all night, what a great feeling to have her home". Smith's other sister, Sue Allard, said in a Facebook post early Saturday morning how proud of Jayme she was.

"She looked thin", Nutter said. In her first sit-down interview, Nutter tells Gayle King the frightening details of the minutes before they made it to safety. "I didn't think he could ever do anything like this".

Smart added that on top of the trauma Jayme has experienced, she does not have to let it define who she becomes.

After murdering both her parents it is believed Mr Patterson then abducted Jayme and took her to his home about 120km away in Gordon.

The same night authorities discovered Jayme missing three months ago, police found her parents James and Denise Closs shot dead in their home.

Nothing in particular stood out about Patterson in middle school, Kasinskas said.

"Now they know their Jayme, [who] was their whole world, is home with family". "Just a quiet, very smart kid", she said.

"So this is a very important time to try to rebuild, to come together again and to start afresh, to try to create a new normal because, unfortunately, there is no going back to the old normal".
