The chips are falling for R. Kelly and his team.
The series, which aired earlier this month, looks at the singer's history and allegations that he has sexually abused women and girls.
Kelly has repeatedly denied all allegations against him. The Savages claim they have not seen their daughter in two years. Angelo Clary believes that his daughter moved in with Kelly when she was 18 and the family hasn't heard from her since 2016. Griggs said Fulton County investigators "haven't confirmed or denied an investigation".
The Fulton County, Georgia, district attorney would not comment on the reports of an investigation into Kelly. She felt compelled to make a public statement to aid victims after her office was inundated with calls to take action.More news: Kim Jong Un departs Beijing after meetings with Xi Jinping
While no charges have now been brought in Kelly's other residence of Chicago, Cook County state attorney Kim Foxx held a press conference on Tuesday to encourage any victims to "please come forward".
"Please come forward. There is nothing that can be done to investigate these allegations without the cooperation of victims and witnesses", Foxx said.
Kelly's attorney Stephen Greenberg is calling Foxx's request for victims to come forward "absurd". The office said it is "reviewing and following up" on the calls, but has no additional information at this time.
"No one has ever seen any evidence of it", he said.More news: Roger Federer, Angelique Kerber cautious on new Australian Open tie-break rule
Officials confirm they have received calls after Foxx's plea.
Singer R. Kelly is reportedly being investigated in multiple jurisdictions following the release of a Lifetime docuseries, "Surviving R. Kelly", which explores allegations that the Grammy victor sexually abused several victims over a span of decades. It went on to say that Russell accused Savage of lying to Lifetime and said that if Savage continued to support the series, Russell and Kelly would be forced to release information that would show Savage was a liar and that would ruin him, his reputation, his business and his family.
Griggs told FOX 5 News that in the past few days, very senior members of the DA's office have contacted Griggs regarding witness information in the case.
James Mason was cited in an incident report for threatening Joycelyn Savage's father, Timothy. The report doesn't say what the relationship between Mason and Kelly is. Mason allegedly threatened to kill Joycelyn Savage father. The incident was passed on to a magistrate judge in Georgia, who responded by issuing a warrant against Mason for his "terroristic threats and acts" in July.More news: US, China trade talks conclude on positive note
