Weekend weather: A little snow and feeling like January

A Winter Weather Advisory will be in effect for counties along and south of Interstates-88 and 290 until 3 a.m. Sunday.

Snow continues to fall for portions of Kentucky, but as temperatures hover around freezing a wintry mix could be seen in other areas.

While one to two inches of snow and sleet are still possible, forecasters now expect Williamsburg to see minimal snow and ice accumulation between late Saturday and Monday. There are also signs of an Arctic blast of cold air for next weekend.

We'll see a mixture of clouds and sunshine the first half of the week with temperatures very seasonable for this time of year reaching the mid-30s for highs. For Saturday, the snow will gradually become more scattered into the afternoon.

The National Weather Service in Wakefield has issued a winter weather advisory for the Historic Triangle from 4 p.m. Saturday through 1 a.m. Monday.

Tonight: Mostly cloudy. Wind: N/S Light. Wind: N 5-10. High: 33. The snowfall in Chicago lasted until early Sunday, with wind gusts reaching up to 25 miles per hour at night.

Sunday night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 18.

Tuesday: Sunny, with a high near 39.

Travel is hazardous during winter weather and interferes with snow-clearing operations and emergency services.
