Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday launched development projects here amid protests staged across Andhra Pradesh against his visit to the state.

Modi also laid the foundation stone for setting up of a new terminal of Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) at Krishnapatnam. He dedicated the 1.33 million metric tonnes of Visakhapatnam Strategic Petroleum Reserve (SPR) facility of the Indian Strategic Petroleum Reserve Limited (ISPRL) built at a cost of Rs 1,178 crore.

A day before PM Narendra Modi's first visit to the state on Sunday after the fallout with TDP in March 2018, hoardings with "Modi Never Again", "Modi No Entry" cropped up in Guntur, albeit remove later.
