Cokanasiga out of England squad to face Scotland

It still grates the England coach how the Scots celebrated their win in this fixture past year at Murrayfield.

"It's a great achievement but I know for him the most important thing is to win on Saturday", said Jones, who famously threw a bag of candies at Youngs when he first took over, saying he was too heavy. For, without question, all of a sudden England's World Cup preparations have been significantly set back. He later said he didn't feel safe traveling by public transport. There is no need for needle if Scotland's bubble has already burst but after the break England simply stopped playing and, boy, did Gregor Townsend's side start by throwing caution to the howling wind. "When the game gets easy we get seduced by the scoreboard and the easiness of the game".

"The massive improvement for us is in our mindset", said Jones", whose side would have been going for a Grand Slam themselves but for a second-half collapse during a 21-13 loss to Wales in Cardiff.

Before today, England, Ireland and Wales looked very evenly matched.

Eddie Jones has named a strong England team as they go in search of a bonus point victory over Scotland in Twickenham on Saturday.

Cokanasiga shone in England's 57-14 win over Italy in round four, but was surprisingly omitted from Saturday's Calcutta Cup clash at Twickenham in favour of Jack Nowell.

Jones considers this to be a particularly pronounced issue in England following a performance by Cokanasiga against Italy which drew comparisons with the great Jonah Lomu. Considering it was George Ford who saved England's bacon it must be said the change had the desired effect but it is concerning to say the least that Jones had to remove his leader from the fray and again the question must be asked whether Farrell assumes too much responsibility in this side.

"He's a young player and we don't need to rush him, we need to bring him through carefully, he's got a long career ahead of him. And he'll feature heavily in our warm-up games for the World Cup".

Or are we going to go to another World Cup where you still worry about England when the chips are down and the momentum is swinging?

"I thought our finishers did exceptionally well to get us out of jail, but I'm disappointed with the 80 minutes". "I've got some reasonable experience doing this".

Jack Nowell returns back to the right wing replacing Joe Cokanasiga with the latter dropped from the matchday 23 squad.

In the forwards, prop Ben Moon and flanker Mark Wilson replaced Ellis Genge and Brad Shields, respectively.

Ben Youngs will also become England's most-capped scum-half as he wins his 85th cap. Two of them came in the back three after injuries ruled out Tommy Seymour and Blair Kinghorn.
