Rock duo The Black Keys is back with new music. The song's surprise arrival marks the first official release from the duo since their 2014 album, Turn Blue. Earlier today, the group returned with "Lo/Hi", a hard rocking new single that it recorded at singer-guitarist Dan Auerbach's Easy Eye Studio in Nashville. Distorted guitars and a steady beat drive the song while backing harmonies add depth to the vocals.

There's no word whether "Lo/Hi" is a stand-alone single or a teaser of a new album, but either way it's nice to see The Black Keys churning out fresh material. Auerbach released the solo projects Keep It Hid in 2009 and Waiting on a Song in 2017, and launched a new band called the Arcs with Yours, Dreamily in 2015.
